Where TaeKwon-Do comes from
Taekwon-Do originated from Korea and is the fastest growing martial art in history. This is mostly due to the founders inspiration and indomitable spirit, it is now practiced in most countries throughout the world. HSTS Taekwon-Do practice the International Taekwon-Do Federation style which was founded in 1955 and the ITF was established in 1966.
HSTS has been established in Hitchin since 1987 and is the longest running ITF Taekwon-Do school in Hitchin, and possibly Hertfordshire. Master Glenn Horan who is a 7th Dan, that means he has seven black belts, is the main instructor at the club and has been training himself for over 33 years. Running the school classes will be Mrs Kelly Rose who is a 4th Dan, that means she has four black belts, she has been training for over 10 years and is also a seasoned competitor having competed in two world championships and two European Championships and is the current world champion in her division. Mrs Kelly Rose is also a fully qualified primary school teacher who had a passion for PE, winning many awards for her school including Hertfordshires Primary School of the Year for PE and School sport three times in a row, the Comet Sports award Primary School of the Year, and afPE quality mark with Distinction.
