At HSTS Taekwon-Do, we are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 and recognise the incredible contribution that women and girls make to our martial arts community.

Across our three clubs in Barton-Le-Clay, Hitchin and Stevenage, we currently have 51 women and 163 girls actively training in Taekwon-Do. Seeing so many female students taking part in martial arts each week is something we are extremely proud of and highlights the welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment within our clubs.

The 2026 Theme: “Give to Gain”

The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is “Give to Gain.” This message strongly reflects the journey that every student experiences when training in Taekwon-Do.

Martial arts requires commitment, focus and perseverance. Students give their time, effort, energy and determination during training, and in return they gain so much more. Through regular training, women and girls develop:

  • Greater confidence and self-belief

  • Physical fitness and strength

  • Mental resilience

  • Discipline and respect

  • Valuable self-defence skills

  • A strong sense of community and friendship

For many of our female students, Taekwon-Do becomes much more than just a sport – it becomes a positive part of their lifestyle and personal development.

Female Success in HSTS Taekwon-Do

Over the years, many women from our clubs have achieved remarkable success in competition. We are proud to have had female students go on to become National, European and World Champions in Taekwon-Do.

These achievements demonstrate the dedication and commitment of our students and serve as inspiration for the next generation of martial artists training in our clubs today.

However, success in Taekwon-Do is not measured only by medals and titles. Every student who steps onto the training mats, pushes themselves to improve and works towards their next belt grade is achieving something meaningful.

Supporting Women and Girls in Martial Arts

At HSTS Taekwon-Do, we believe martial arts should be accessible to everyone. Our classes provide a positive environment where women and girls can train, improve their skills and grow in confidence.

Whether someone is just beginning their martial arts journey or working towards becoming a black belt, our clubs aim to support every student in reaching their full potential.
