HSTS Taekwon-Do Proudly Sponsors Astros Netball Team with New Hoodies

At HSTS Taekwon-Do, we believe in supporting our local community and encouraging people of all ages to stay active through sport. That’s why we’re proud to announce our latest community partnership — sponsoring the Astros Netball Team with brand new hoodies as they compete in the Heritage League across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

This partnership is particularly special to us because Allie Horan, Operations Manager at HSTS Taekwon-Do, is also a player for the Astros Netball Team, making the connection between the two clubs even stronger.

Supporting local athletes and grassroots sports is something we’re passionate about, and we’re excited to play a small role in helping the Astros represent their team both on and off the court.

Supporting Local Sport in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire

The Astros Netball Team competes in the Heritage League, playing matches across both Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. The league brings together talented teams from across the region and provides a fantastic environment for competitive yet friendly netball.

With Allie Horan from HSTS Taekwon-Do part of the squad, the sponsorship felt like a natural fit. As someone who is passionate about sport, teamwork, and community involvement, Allie plays an important role in both.

By providing the Astros team with branded hoodies, HSTS Taekwon-Do hopes to support the players as they travel to fixtures, train together, and represent their club with pride.

The hoodies not only help keep players warm before and after matches but also give the team a unified and professional look when attending games and league events.

Community partnerships like this strengthen connections between local sports clubs and help encourage participation in physical activity across the region.

Why HSTS Taekwon-Do Supports Community Sports

Martial arts and team sports share many of the same values:

  • Discipline

  • Commitment

  • Respect

  • Teamwork

  • Personal development

At HSTS Taekwon-Do, these principles form the foundation of everything we teach in our classes.

While Taekwon-Do is often seen as an individual martial art, our students train as part of a supportive team environment. Just like netball, success comes through dedication, encouragement from teammates, and consistent training.

Having Operations Manager Allie Horan actively competing in the Heritage Netball League highlights how important sport and fitness are within the HSTS Taekwon-Do community.

Supporting the Astros Netball Team reflects our commitment to promoting these values throughout the local community.

The Importance of Grassroots Sport

Grassroots sport plays a vital role in keeping communities healthy, active, and connected. Local leagues like the Heritage Netball League give players opportunities to:

  • Develop their skills

  • Stay physically active

  • Build friendships

  • Compete in an organised environment

  • Represent their local area

By sponsoring the Astros with new hoodies, HSTS Taekwon-Do hopes to help the team feel proud of their club and continue competing at their best throughout the season.

We’re looking forward to following their progress and cheering them on as they play matches across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

From Martial Arts to Netball – A Shared Passion for Sport

Although Taekwon-Do and netball are very different sports, they both require many of the same physical and mental attributes:

Fitness and Conditioning

Both sports demand strength, agility, and endurance.

Focus and Strategy

Players must stay mentally sharp and react quickly during matches or sparring.

Team Support

Even in martial arts, training partners and teammates are essential for improvement.

Confidence

Regular training builds confidence that carries over into many areas of life.

This shared passion for sport is one of the reasons HSTS Taekwon-Do is proud to support the Astros Netball Team, especially with Allie Horan representing both the martial arts and netball communities.

Community Matters

Local sports clubs play a huge role in building strong communities. Whether it’s martial arts, football, netball, or athletics, sport brings people together and helps create lasting friendships.

With Allie Horan involved in both HSTS Taekwon-Do and the Astros Netball Team, this sponsorship is a great example of how local sports communities can support one another.

By sponsoring the Astros Netball Team, HSTS Taekwon-Do is proud to support local athletes who are passionate about their sport and committed to competing at their best.

We wish the Astros the best of luck for the rest of their Heritage League season and look forward to seeing the team wearing their new hoodies with pride.
