Achieving a black belt is a proud moment, but it also opens the door to further learning. At HSTS Taekwon-Do, we support that development with two dedicated black belt classes each week at both our Stevenage and Hitchin locations.
These classes give students the time, instruction and training partners to build on their achievements and continue progressing through the ITF Taekwon-Do syllabus.
Dedicated Training for Black Belts
Dedicated black belt classes offer a valuable opportunity to focus on the needs of experienced students. With everyone training at black belt level, sessions allow for deeper study, more detailed instruction and challenges suited to this stage of development.
At HSTS, we take pride in providing this training as a regular part of our timetable. Our commitment to students continues well beyond their first black belt grading.
Black Belt Taekwon-Do in Stevenage
Our Stevenage black belt classes bring together students who share a commitment to improving their Taekwon-Do.
Training at this level means looking more closely at how and why techniques work. Students develop their accuracy, balance, timing and control while learning to recognise and refine the smaller details of their performance.
Training alongside fellow black belts also creates opportunities to exchange experience, challenge one another and offer encouragement. Whether a student has recently achieved their 1st Degree or is working towards a higher degree, there is always something to learn.
Developing Skills and Understanding
Our dedicated black belt training supports development across the ITF syllabus, including:
- Patterns: Learning degree-level patterns and refining previously learned movements.
- Technical detail: Improving stances, movement, coordination and the application of techniques.
- Sparring: Developing timing, distance, control and tactical understanding.
- Grading preparation: Working towards the practical skills and knowledge required for further degree assessments.
- Personal development: Building confidence, perseverance and responsibility as a senior student.
Progress involves both learning new material and returning to familiar techniques with greater understanding. A movement practised for years can still offer new lessons.
Two Weekly Classes at Each Location
We offer two dedicated black belt classes per week in Stevenage and two in Hitchin, providing regular opportunities for focused training.
This provision reflects our belief that experienced students deserve continued investment in their development. Earning a black belt takes years of effort, and having a clear path beyond that achievement helps students maintain their enthusiasm and work towards meaningful goals.
For some, the next goal is a degree grading or competition. For others, it is improving their technique, developing teaching skills or simply enjoying the ongoing challenge of training.
Continuing Your Journey with HSTS
We are proud to help our students grow from beginners into confident black belts and to support them as their ambitions develop.
Our dedicated classes in Stevenage and Hitchin are an important part of that commitment: a place to keep learning, train with purpose and discover how much more Taekwon-Do has to offer.
